Used in combination with standard reins, horses will gradually stretch and open up, gaining a better understanding of the aids requested. This neck strap must be properly fitted, and the rider's aids should be given 50% through the normal reins and 50% through the neck strap.
Over time, the neck strap can be used on its own, as the horse becomes more responsive to the rider's natural aids.
