A single measurement to determine the gullet size suited to your horse's conformation. For ERIC THOMAS HYBRID and NORTON PRO saddles - Step 1: For an accurate measurement, place your saddle on your horse in the correct position. On your horse's back, make a mark in line with the screws located underneath the saddle. - Step 2: Remove the saddle and place the gullet gauge vertically on your mark. - Step 3: Slide the gullet gauge downwards until both contact surfaces rest on the horse and a reading can be taken. - Step 4: The gullet gauge indicates the gullet size/colour to use for your horse. It is recommended to repeat this process 3 to 4 times a year.
